Notice of Public School
Supplemental Educational Services
In accordance with the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act, the following is public information concerning Public School Choice and Supplemental Educational Services:
- Supplemental Educational Services is available to students receiving Free or Reduced Lunch in Title I schools that do not meet the minimum requirements for AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) for three or more consecutive years.
- 2007-2008 – No schools were eligible for Supplemental Educational Services
- 2008-2009 – The parents of 291 students receiving Free or Reduced Lunch and attending Central Middle School were notified by letter of their child’s eligibility for Supplemental Educational Services. Of these, ten (10) participated in SES tutoring services provided by the local Sylvan Learning Center.
- 2009-2010 - The parents of 330 students receiving Free or Reduced Lunch and attending Central Middle School were notified by letter of their child’s eligibility for Supplemental Educational Services. Of these, 36 participated in SES tutoring provided by three DESE approved providers.
- 2009-2010 - The parents of 245 students receiving Free or Reduced Lunch and attending Jefferson Elementary School were notified by letter of their child’s eligibility for Supplemental Educational Services. Of these, five (5) participated in SES tutoring provided by two DESE approved providers.
- 2010-2011 The parents of 330 students receiving Free or Reduced Lunch and attending Central Middle School were notified by letter of their child’s eligibility for Supplemental Educational Services. Of these, twenty nine (29) participated in SES tutoring provided by three DESE approved providers during the first semester. Second semester, thirty-eight (38) students received services from two DESE approved providers.
- 2010-2011 The parents of 236 students receiving Free or Reduced Lunch and attending Jefferson Elementary School were notified by letter of their child’s eligibility for Supplemental Educational Services. Of these, six (6) participated in SES tutoring provided by two DESE approved providers during the first semester. During the second semester, seven (7) students received SES services from one DESE approved provider.
