Missouri Course Access Program

MISSOURI COURSE ACCESS PROGRAM

The Cape Girardeau Public School District will provide access to virtual (online) coursework. Students and families interested in virtual education should visit the DESE MOCAP website. If interested the parent/guardian will need to submit a request through the district MOCAP Virtual Instruction Application Form portal.

All parents and guardians must first enroll during the District's open enrollment period MOCAP enrollment portal to receive approval from the Deputy Superintendents Christa Turner (Elementary K-4) or Dr. Howard Benyon (Secondary 5-12). Please see district policy IGCD: Virtual Course and IGCD-AP(1) for enrollment process and procedures expectations.

Special Services
If your student has an IEP or Section 504 Plan, an IEP team or Section 504 team meeting must occur prior to MOCAP eligibility determination. The purpose of the meeting is to consider how registering in virtual courses will impact provision of a Free and Appropriate Education (FAPE) for a student with a disability. In addition, NONE of the MOCAP providers offer special education services (specially designed instruction) or related services, but they do offer accommodations and modifications.
