CGPS REMEMBERS 9/11

CGPS TAKES TIME TO HONOR 9/11
As the nation saw another anniversary of 9/11 come and go, students across Cape Girardeau Public Schools received lasting lessons on how to honor the heroes and victims.

At Jefferson Elementary, Stacy Stapleton and her second grade students gathered at the flagpole where they sang a song and took turns ringing a bell to remember the victims of 9/11.  Students also participated in a moment of silence.  It's something Stapleton does each year with her class.

The Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center hosted a blood drive with the American Red Cross Tuesday to give back in memory of those who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 attacks.  The event surpassed the goal set of 60 donors.
