CARTER FINALIST FOR NATIONAL COUNSELOR OF THE YEAR
Olivia Carter is no stranger to the spotlight as the Jefferson Elementary counselor continues to shine.  She has been selected as a finalist for the American School Counselor Association Counselor of the Year award after being named Missouri Counselor of the Year.  Only five counselors were chosen as national finalists.

Carter has been a school counselor for nine years including five years serving the students at Jefferson Elementary.

Jefferson Elementary and Cape Girardeau Public Schools will celebrate Ms. Carter's latest honor with a parade scheduled for Wednesday, November 11, 2020.

Ms. Carter is pictured with CGPS Superintendent Dr. Neil Glass when she was surprised with news she had won the state award.
